Inserting a drop-down menu into an Excel Spreadsheet
This is an example of inserting a drop-down (pull-down) menu into a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet that references a table.

Step 1: Open Excel and right click on a (blank, no buttons) area of the menu. From the menu, check "Forms". Should look something like this:

Step 2: Create a table like the one pictured below.

Step 3: From the Forms menu, click on the Combo Box icon.

Step 4: Position the Combo Box (Pull down men) somewhere on your spreadsheet. Right click on that position and click on Format Control...

Step 5: In the Format Object dialog box, click on the "Control" tab. Click in the Input Range: field, then on your spreadsheet hightlight the area under the "Date" column as illustrated below:

Step 6: The a Cell link in the Cell Link box -- in our example we're going to use cell A8 (see illustration below):

Step 7: In our example, we're going to insert a Vlookup function in cell B8 as shown below:

Step 8: That's it! We've created a spreadsheet with a pull down menu. In our example, we should now be able to use the pull down menu to find the weather on a particular date.
